NAWLA’s Young Emerging Lumber Professionals (YELP) program develops the next generation of leaders in the lumber industry through professional development and networking opportunities. Make a submission for the rising stars in your company for this prestigious program that will put them on the fast track to industry success. Only a maximum of 30 participants will be selected, making this a highly competitive and exclusive opportunity.
Upon selection, the YELPers will participate in regular virtual programming designed to introduce them to the lumber industry and NAWLA, with specific topics being decided upon by the class over the course of a year. This elite group of emerging lumber professionals will join a cohort of future leaders and establish relationships that will last their entire careers!
How to Make a Submission
Individuals are allowed complete a submission for themselves or others to be a part of the YELP class by completing the nomination link below. YELP is held only every other year, so do not miss your chance to submit in 2025 because submissions will not open again until 2027.
The deadline to make a submission is Friday, May 9.
What YELP Entails
The YELP program offers exclusive networking and professional development opportunities that only NAWLA can provide. Your cohort will decide what specific areas of development you want to focus on to ensure the monthly virtual programming is relevant and timely. The program will culminate in an in-person retreat where you’ll continue to grow your professional relationships with both your fellow class mates and NAWLA leadership.
Throughout the year, YELPers will be recognized as rising leaders in the industry through NAWLA’s communication channels, the NAWLA website, and at NAWLA’s Traders Market.
Eligibility Requirements
- Aged 40 or younger
- Employed by a NAWLA member company
- The class will be capped at 30 participants, and submissions will be selected based on work experience, professional achievements, and overall contributions to their companies and the lumber industry.
