Speakers:

David Gourde

David Gourde, Senior Vice President-Engineering, Product Line Management, Service and Reliability - BID Group, has worked in the sawmill equipment industry for almost 30 years. A very versatile individual, David has contributed to BID Group's success in various roles over the years: design, engineering, manufacturing, project management, on-site installation, equipment start-up and sales management. His involvement in projects across North America and internationally, as well as his highly developed ability to listen to customers' needs, have enabled him to develop an uncommon understanding of the industry. Today, the industry as a whole benefits from his expertise as Senior Vice President at BID Group.

Louis-Philippe Poirier

Louis-Philippe Poirier, P. Eng., M.Sc.A. is the Director of Operations at Nordic Structures. Beyond overseeing the company’s operations, Mr. Poirier manages the construction and project execution team, which includes more than 40 engineers and technicians realizing project throughout North-America. Mr. Poirier earned his engineering degree at McGill in 2003 and completed a Master’s degree at the Polytechnique of Montreal, focused on seismic engineering. Before joining Nordic Structure, he worked 15+ years as a structural engineering consultant. He has overseen institutional, commercial, residential, industrial, mining, infrastructure and bridge projects for SNC-Lavalin, one of the largest engineering firms in North America, where he was the head of engineering services. During his years as a consultant, Mr. Poirier developed an expertise and a passion for timber projects. He has been a noteworthy leader in pushing the boundaries and designing ‘First of its Kind’ timber structures, including some North American Wood Design and Building Award-winning projects. This work has led Louis-Philippe to join the CSA O86 Technical Committee for engineering Design in Wood, the Canadian wood Standard, where he now serves as the Vice-Chair.

Tony Gerber

Tony Gerber is the President of Flash Freight Systems, based in Guelph Ontario. Tony has provided strategic direction for the growth of the supply chain solutions, transportation and transloading divisions for more than 20 years. Working closely with a team of more than 80 members with operations based predominantly in Ontario, but also spread across the Eastern half of North America, Mr. Gerber has led teams that relentlessly pursue service excellence while utilizing both traditional and forward looking tools to enhance efficiencies. His three decades of experience in the fields of transportation and supply chain management have given him a deep knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that arise in the world of logistics and supply chain services. Mr. Gerber is active in a number of industry committees, as well as serving in an advisory role on a number of boards as a director.
