NAWLA Event Updates – COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

NAWLA understands that our members and event sponsors and exhibitors may have questions regarding the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). The organization's top concern is the safety and well being of our members, speakers and event sponsors, and has been closely monitoring this rapidly evolving situation.

As such, we’ve assessed the current conditions and recommendations from local health authorities, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), in making the following decisions about upcoming events and educational courses.

  • Montréal Regional Meeting, March 24, 2020: cancelled

If you registered for the Montréal Regional Meeting in conjunction with your Montréal Wood Convention registration, please know that the event organizers have committed to reimbursing registration fees and will be providing additional details about those refunds in the near future. If you registered for just the Montréal Regional Meeting, NAWLA will process your refund within one business week.

  • Spring Wood Basics, March 23-27: cancelled

If you registered for Spring Wood Basics, please contact NAWLA Headquarters by Friday, March 20, to advise if you would prefer to attend the Fall 2020 Wood Basics course or receive a refund.

  • Vancouver Regional Meeting, April 9: postponed to September 2020
  • Southeast Regional Meeting, April 30: postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date

If you registered for the Southeast Regional Meeting, please contact NAWLA Headquarters by Friday, March 27 to request a refund or to have your registration transferred to another upcoming 2020 Regional Meeting.

While we are disappointed that you will miss or postpone the valuable education and networking opportunities you and your employees have traditionally enjoyed at those events, NAWLA remains committed to providing such opportunities to lumber industry professionals in the future and encourages you to participate in upcoming events as soon as you are able.

Please contact NAWLA Headquarters if you have additional questions.
