For the past three summers, teachers from across North America have participated in NAWLA's Teachers Tour programs. The three-day, all-expense-paid tours send elementary school teachers to important lumber producing regions' forests, research and production facilities.

NAWLA's Teachers Tour programs
"The objective is to provide teachers with a hands-on learning experience about forest management practices that they can take back to their classrooms," says NAWLA President Nick Kent. "The fieldtrip format of the tours help visually demonstrate to teachers that managed forests can sustain wildlife, maintain their natural beauty, and retain their value as a viable economic resources," he notes.
